Youth market and business contest planned for May

LAS CRUCES – Youth ages 6 to 17 are invited to plan, market and launch their own micro-business as part of the upcoming Kids Can_YEP Fiesta de la Primavera: Youth Market and Business Contest.

The youth market will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 at the Plaza de Las Cruces and will align with the weekly Las Cruces Farmers and Crafts Market.

All entries in the market will automatically be entered in the business competition, and booths will be judged by a panel of local business professionals on a variety of criteria, including the most original business idea, highest business potential, and best presentation (creativity).

Cash prizes will be awarded per category and age group.

Registration fee includes a pre-market workshop 2 to 5:30 p.m. April 23 at Community Action Agency.

The sponsorship deadline is also April 20.
